We are recruiting a Country Director for our new programme in Ethiopia

2019 will be the year to realise our ambition of starting up in Ethiopia.

Max Foundation is planning a multi-million multi-year Nutrition-WASH Healthy Village program in Ethiopia, for which it is securing funding for Max Foundation and partners.

Healthy Village Programme

The Healthy Village program puts WASH and Nutrition at the heart of community-led efforts to reduce levels of stunting, diarrhoea and other water-and faecal-borne diseases to contribute to better child health in communities. We focus on a healthy start in life for children under five, through targeted program elements such as child growth monitoring and baby WASH. We focus on hygiene and nutrition behaviour change as essential to achieve health impacts. Other key elements for sustainable results are: strengthening the private sector through sanitation marketing, and a full coverage approach. The program contributes to the long-term goal of the Government of Ethiopia to improve the health of children and reduce child mortality (<5 years). This program builds on our previous experience of successful integrated programs in Bangladesh, adapted and contextualized to the Ethiopian context.

We are looking for a Country Director and to open up a local office in Ethiopia

To start working in Ethiopia we are setting up a new local office. The local office will be registered in Ethiopia but be part of the Max Foundation international organization with headquarters in the Netherlands, with a common vision, mission and strategy.

We are also looking for a dynamic Country Director to start up and run the Max Foundation program and office in Addis Ababa, including creating new programs and partnerships and actively seeking donor funding for them.

The Country Director is responsible for the achievement of the organisation’s results and objectives, and will work closely together with Max Foundation Netherlands team and local consortium partners to execute country strategies, portfolios and activities. The Country Director would report directly to the Director of Max Foundation (based in the Netherlands head office), and will be responsible for the local team. Key focus is on ensuring the quality of the programs. As an active representative of Max Foundation, the Country Director will be active in (inter)national forums and networks in view of strengthening the program, organisation’s visibility and building partnerships.
