One of our customers said "5 euros? Can I buy it for a hundred?"

"This is such a great fundraising idea! We should copy this for future events!" says our director Joke Le Poole enthousiastically.

To celebrate the opening of their new store in Amsterdam, our long-term sponsor Bouwmaat, a wholesale chain for professional building materials, organised a fundraising activity for their customers and relations. During the festive evening, they were invited to buy a brick for a minimum of 5 euros. And then place it in the shape of a water well, so as to symbolically build it together for Bangladesh. In total this already generated over €3.500, and donations are still coming in! Ramon van Leer, the store manager, tells us: "People reacted so positively. One of our customers asked: 5 euros? Can I also buy it for a 100? - I guess that's something you rarely here as a retailer!".

Kaat Burbidge, our fundraiser, receives the amount raised, 'cheque-by-cheque'.

With this contribution we can of course do much more than build one well. We can provide 3 whole villages with proper sanitation and clean water. On behalf of the whole team at Max Foundation: Thank you to all relations and customers of Bouwmaat!
